Annotation |
John Keating is the new charismatic English teacher at Welton Academy, a very traditional New England boarding school. Questioning authority and going against the conformist norm, he challenges his students to live life to the fullest, to ''seize the day.'' He teaches them to act on their impulses and to be spontaneous, free thinkers. Some of the boys are inspired by his idealism and form a secret society based on their mutual appreciation of poetry.
